MK677 is an orally active growth hormone secretagogue (GHS), a peptidyl synthetic GHS to be exact. GHS’s are compounds that have been found to induce GH release in several species and are closely related to Ghrelin. Ghrelin is a gastric hormone that acts on the pituitary and hypothalamus to stimulate Growth hormone (GH) release, fat-loss, appetite and fuel metabolism.
MK677 has been shown in research to effectively stimulate GH release through the pituitary and hypothalamic receptor. MK677 stimulates GH secretion from the pituitary both in vitro and in vivo.
